Dialogue Lab: America brings together twelve Americans from across the ideological spectrum to participate in a dialogue experiment on political polarization. The hour-long documentary tracks each participant as they voice their political opinions, come face to face with those holding different views, and, perhaps, forge a path to mutual understanding.

What happens when people stop being polite and start talking about the issues that divide us? We decided to try and answer this very question. And so, earlier this year we brought together twelve Americans for one powerful dialogue experiment on political polarization. One that would decide whether a few people could begin the process of knitting together an entire nation. These twelve individuals — representing far right, far left, and everything in between — dared to cross lines of difference with only one goal: to see if it was possible to cross ideological, political, cultural, and even spiritual divides and find common ground. Some were fearful. Most were highly skeptical. But they all had two things in common: faith in humanity, and a shared belief that by stepping across lines of difference, real change might occur.
